Being just a little geeky, we have all the toys you could possibly use when going walking. You certainly don’t need all this stuff, but as you get to walk more and more, I’m sure you’ll at least think about it.
Learning Nordic Walking
Just got this course; am trying it out, and will review here. If you can’t wait, click the link to get your own copy. I’d like to hear what you think of it.
Mapping Systems
The most important thing, I think, is to understand where you’re going, and vital to that is to have a good map system. I have played with most of them, and finally settled on Mapyx Quo. I will document all our walks using Mapyx Quo files that you can download, and provide GPX files that you can download to your GPSr.
There is a fabulously simple interface for just buying the map tiles you need, and you can then print out just the bits of map you need for your walk.
GPS Receiver
The GPS (Global Positioning System) that we use is the SatMap Active 10.
